Alexander May
Alex is an intelligence analyst with over a decade of experience in the intelligence community. He currently serves with Macomb County as a contractor assigned to the Michigan State Police at the Detroit and Southeast Michigan Information and Intelligence Center (DSEMIIC), where he provides investigative and operational support to law enforcement partners
Alex’s professional background includes military intelligence and counterintelligence experience, complemented by a Master of Science in Crime Analysis from Arizona State University, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Grand Valley State University, and an Associate’s degree in Military Studies from Cochise College. He is also a member of the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA). His work integrates strategic, tactical, and investigative analysis to support data-driven decision-making and public safety initiatives.
As a member of the MiCIAA Board, Alex is dedicated to mentoring emerging professionals, strengthening statewide analytical networks, and advancing the standards and impact of the crime and intelligence analysis profession throughout Michigan.

Avery Swickard
Avery is a civilian employee for the city of Farmington Hills Police Department as a Crime Data Analyst. As the sole analyst for the agency, she is involved in all facets of crime analysis, including strategic, tactical, intelligence, administrative, and operational functions. Before joining the Farmington Hills Police Department, Avery started her career in crime analysis in 2023 as a crime analyst intern with the Lansing Police Department. In 2024, she was promoted to a full-time crime analyst for LPD before transitioning to her current role with the Farmington Hills Police Department.
Avery holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Professional GIS Certificate from Michigan State University, along with a Master of Science in Crime Analysis from Arizona State University. As Vice President of the MiCIAA Board, Avery is passionate about advancing the crime analysis field across Michigan. She hopes to strengthen the association's presence statewide by fostering collaboration among analysts and creating a supportive network for professionals at all stages of their careers. Avery is particularly committed to developing resources, mentorship opportunities, and a clear pathway for students and emerging professionals looking to enter the field in the state of Michigan.

Melissa Redshaw
Melissa is an experienced law enforcement intelligence leader with more than two decades of analytical, investigative, and managerial expertise across state and university policing agencies. She currently serves as a Departmental Manager within the Michigan State Police - Michigan Intelligence Operations Center, where she oversees analysts specializing in case support, narcotics, and cellular analysis.
Throughout her career, Melissa has held key analytical roles with the Michigan State University Police Department, the Michigan State Police, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Her background includes extensive experience in fraud and financial crime investigations, missing persons cases, crimes against children, intelligence program development, intern program development, and multi-agency coordination.
Melissa holds a Master of Science in Criminology and dual bachelor’s degrees in Criminology and English Literature from Florida State University. She is a Criminal Intelligence Certified Analyst and an active member of IALEIA and IACA. As a member of the MiCIAA Board, Melissa is committed to advancing professional standards in the intelligence and crime analysis field, developing analysts, improving intelligence processes, and advancing data‑driven public safety strategies.

Madison Lewis
Madison possesses over six years of experience in crime and intelligence analysis, spanning local and state government sectors. In 2021, she earned her Master of Science degree in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis from Michigan State University.
Currently, as a Departmental Analyst with the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, she provides critical investigative support to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Her work balances investigative analysis and community outreach in the hopes of combating child exploitation.
As the Director of Membership for MiCIAA, Madison is committed to building a collaborative network that empowers analysts through shared resources and professional development.
